People spend five second or less looking at modern art according to a March 13th article by Phillip Hensher for the Daily Mail. Found via the blog Underpaintings by Mathew Innis, the article states that people spent a lot more time, up to several minutes on average, looking at traditional works in comparison.

Even after a century of propaganda, it’s good to know that people still think for themselves.
